Praise for the Power of Giving!

From Wayne McRann at Developing World Connections:

Asking "Why?"

If you keep asking the question "Why" to each of your goals, you will go deeper and find out the root reason of why you do what you do.

This may lead you to either reinforce the goal, or revise the goal or even drop the goal!

It is better to drop a goal which is not going to serve your deep desires. That time could be invested to give and make a difference!

Some very kind words

Sarosha, at Children Care for Children, wrote a very kind review of the Power of Giving.

"I didn't completely read this book, but I read several pages (not in any particular order). Every page, every paragraph I read taught me something. I learned how small gift from heart can make a big difference in lives of others. Giving benefits both sides. I realized that Giving is a very joyful thing. "

Thank you for your recommendation, Sarosha, and for everything you give everyday.

The Power of Giving... in Greek!

We are delighted with the arrival this morning of the Greek edition of the Power of Giving! We are especially charmed by our Greek names as visible above what we presume to be the title!  To givers out there with friends and familiy in Greece, tell them to keep their eyes out for this:

Keynote for a Cause-- Help Haiti!

Here's a great idea that I'm stealing from Joseph Jaffe and Mitch Joel (thank you)... but with a twist.
I am auctioning off a "Power of Giving" keynote presentation with 100% of the proceeds going to Oxfam for - Haiti Relief.
I am putting a reserve at $10 000.

Act Now!

If you get a good idea or new insight act upon it right away! If you don't, it loses it's impact. Also, you may forget what you learned. However, if you act upon it right away, you set the wheels in motion. You benefit from implementing a good idea.

You also have the potential to internalize the message and gain even deeper insights. Most of us moves quickly to the next thing. However, a better strategy is to deeply understand what you've learned.

Your Peak Time!

With my travel schedule, my wonderful habit of getting up early sometimes gets messed up.

However, last night I managed to sleep early and wake up early. I got so much done this morning, really amazing!
I asked myself, "why don't I do this every day?"

We all have peak times in our day. For me it is 2 am!! I know it is a crazy time for most people. However, it works great for me especially when I am able to sleep by 9 pm.

Giving Clear Instructions

Once you commit to something wholeheartedly things start to fall in place.

Most people commit to things half heartedly - be it to their financial, emotional, spiritual or social goals. Therefore the results they get are likewise, lukewarm.

When you commit totally, you start to meet the right people, the right guidance and the best ideas. The reason people do not commit is because they are unsure of what they want.

Help Haiti: Donate to Oxfam!

I have said before, in every crisis there is an opportunity. And this crisis is no exception.   In these times we are all called to be compassionate, and today, for Haiti, I hope you’ll be as generous as possible.

That is why I sent my donation to Oxfam.  In this extreme time of need for Haiti, I ask that you do the same.  As Haitians suffer tremendously right now, Oxfam is there helping them.

Please go to their website and give:

Trusting

Something within me said, everything happens for a reason. So I trusted that feeling. Guess what, I have had one of the best starts in the morning!

When you are integrated and aligned to your purpose and vision, you become trusting of events, even mishaps in your life. You take mishaps as a reason to get to where you want to go faster.

Now, this is not easy, especially if the mishap is severe. However, usually if you have no choice to change what has already happened then fretting about it will not only not help but can make things worse!
