We can potentially learn at least one, if not several lessons, every day!
Where do we learn these lessons you may ask? Here are three ideal places where lessons are learned daily.
- In your home with your spouse, children, parents. An example from my life is that waking my son Tawfiq in the morning can be a monumental task! However, when I discuss with him the night before about what is expected, he wakes up as discussed with no effort on my part. My lesson is that if I want a stress free morning, I should plan things with Tawfiq the night before. I am working on making this a permanent solution!
- On your way to work or returning home from work; this could be a traffic lesson or a 'thought control' lesson. For me, leaving a few minutes early gives me the experience and pleasure of "enjoying the ride"! Why? Because I know I will reach my destination in time even if there are traffic jams on the way.
- At work while interacting with customers, colleagues, suppliers or even within yourself. For me slowing down and connecting with people before rushing into business is a great way to get things done.
When you are learning new lessons every day, you are more aware and alert, thus able to give more to others and yourself!
How about you?
What is your daily lesson?
