I neglected to give special thanks to Seth Godin when I wrote my post on August 27.

When Azim and I self-published The Power of Giving a couple of years ago, Seth's book Unleashing the Ideavirus was a great inspiration.

Originally, we had decided to give away 10% of the profits to charity.  Then, we decided, "Let's give 100% of our royalties away."  Seth inspired us to allow people to download the book for free.  Thousands got the book.  Tens of thousands downloaded it for free.  Ideas about giving were spread.  (I might note, including to people in Vietnam, who translated the book and published it illegally, but their edition has a great cover!  I just wish they would send me a copy.)
